HOUSTON — “Dallas is calling.” That’s the message from the Dallas Police Department as they look to recruit officers. And they’re trying to nab them from here in the Houston area.
Dallas police posted a message on social media earlier this week, asking potential recruits a question — ‘Sick of Houston?’ — and then saying Dallas is “bigger, better and bolder.”
The Dallas Police Department posted the message to highlight a three-day hiring event they’re having in The Woodlands.
In the post, DPD is promoting what it calls a “shortened lateral academy” for experienced officers, along with competitive compensation packages and a salary for the lateral move at $91,000 a year.
Sick of Houston? Ready for something bigger, better, and bolder? Dallas is calling. Step up and make the move as a lateral officer to a city with power, pride, and a skyline that proves it. Don’t wait—apply now! pic.twitter.com/A6YepSiJgM
