Sights and sounds from inaugural Pullman BBQ Festival in San Antonio

A BBQ festival for the whole neighborhood gave some of the biggest local pitmasters a chance to showcase their tasty takes on BBQ and grilling.

SAN ANTONIO — Pullman Market at the Pearl is firing up the pits and serving up delicious smoked meats, giving local critically-acclaimed pitmasters a chance to showcase their tasty takes on BBQ and grilling. 

This first-of-its-kind event brought together ten celebrated pitmasters for a family-friendly night of live fire demonstrations, BBQ tastings, craft beverages, live music, entertainment and more. 

The celebration also featured tastings from acclaimed pitmasters including Ernest Servantes of Burnt Bean Company, John Bates of InterStellar BBQ, Esaul Ramos of 2M Smokehouse and Shuai Wang of King BBQ in Charleston, SC.

“Pullman Market’s Smoke & Fire isn’t just a food festival – it’s a celebration of craft, flavor, and community,” said Kevin Fink, Partner of Emmer & Rye Hospitality Group and Pullman Market. “We’re excited to launch an annual tradition that brings the community together for an unforgettable evening featuring ten of the country’s most talented pitmasters and their signature barbecue creations.”

BBQ Smoke & Fire attendees were able to sample signature bites from each pitmaster, sip curated beverages and enjoy live music and entertainment.
