“Love, peace, and burger grease,” are the perfect ingredients for this Alamo City burger spot!
SAN ANTONIO — Stephen Chavez, owner of SA Fredericksburgers, started his business under a 10×10 tent as a pop-up.
“A few months later I bought my trailer,” Chavez said. “And then within the next year we moved into our Hillcrest location.”
Eventually the restaurant expanded to the 9503 Bandera Road location.
Chavez grew up on Fredericksburg Road selling burgers and says that the shop’s namesake and enormous sandwiches speak for themselves.
“When you come here and eat, hopefully you leave a better day ahead… ‘a burger day ahead,’” he said.
If you’re looking for recommendations, Chavez suggests the restaurant’s ‘Roadrunner’ and ‘Bubba Burger’ pizza.
“It is a bacon swiss cheeseburger with fried jalapenos and our honey hot sauce on top,” he said.
But that’s not all!
“Our Bubba Burger is my son and I’s take on a hamburger inside of a pizza,” Chavez added.
And be sure to check out their ‘Bandera’ chili-cheese burger and funnel cake fries on 9503 Bandera Road located next to a Valero gas station.
