Six Flags Fiesta Texas brings DC Universe, new rides to San Antonio

San Antonio will soon get to experience the DC Universe at its Six Flags theme park featuring the iconic super heroes and villains from the comic books. Six Flags Fiesta Texas is building a new DC Universe section this year that will feature three new rides based on DC heroes and themes like the Cyborg Cyber Revolution, Shazam! Tower of Eternity and the Metropolis Transit Authority, according to its website. 

Fiesta Texas will also renovated existing attractions to fit the theme of other super heroes and villains. The existing SkyScreamer, Streamliner Coaster and Rambling Road will be transformed into The Penguin: Gotham City Getaway, Supergirl Sky Flight and Poison Ivy Toxic Spin. 

Here are the descriptions Six Flags Fiesta Texas gave for all three new rides:

• Cyborg Cyber Revolution: a ride that has four individual arms rotating in fast, intermeshing orbits.
• Shazam! Tower of Eternity: a rotating family drop tower for riders of all ages that reaches a height of 70 feet before bouncing and dropping.
• Metropolis Transit Authority: a 16-passenger track ride that provides a relaxing aerial view 17 feet above DC Universe aboard monorail-style trains.

“The addition of three new rides along with the reimagining of several others will create the largest and most exciting DC Universe at any amusement park in the U.S.,” said park President Jeffrey Siebert in the announcement. 

Another recent TDLR filing says that Six Flags Fiesta Texas is remodeling the entrance an retail store exit for The Superman ride under a project called “Daily Planet,” the name of the newspaper Superman works for in the comic under his alias Clark Kent. The announcement provide a date for when the new section will be completed.
