Six Flags Fiesta Texas gives nod to ‘Stranger Things’ in announcement of first day of new season

Six Flags Fiesta Texas kicks off 2026 amid buzz from the season finale of Stranger Things, enticing fans to visit on January 10.

SAN ANTONIO — Six Flags Fiesta Texas is ringing in the 2026 season with a fun reference to the most-talked about show of the new year.

After a brief break at the end of the parks holiday celebration, Six Flags Fiesta Texas will reopen Saturday, Jan. 10. The new year kickss off with the park’s special Mardi Gras celebration. 

In a Facebook post ushering in opening day, the park referenced the season finale of Stranger Things, which people just cannot stop talking about.

In the post, the park slyly refers to the ambiguous fate of one of the lead characters, saying “We heard someone was looking for 3 waterfalls? That’s strange…any way we will see you back at the park Saturday, January 10th!”

The Netflix show’s final season, season 5, debuted throughout the 2025 holiday season, with the finale debuting on New Year’s Eve. The nearly two-hour episode capped one of the streaming channels flagship shows. The show’s first season debuted on Netflix on July 15, 2016.
