Smoke steps up with Cowboy Breakfast-like event at business – mySA

Don’t worry San Antonio, free tacos are still up for grabs ahead of the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo. Smoke BBQ+Skybar announced on Instagram on Tuesday, January 17 that it will be offering free breakfast tacos and sandwiches at its upcoming event.

“Due to the cancellation of the Cowboy Breakfast this year, Smoke BBQ+Skybar has stepped up to bring you an event like no other,” the restaurant and bar wrote in its Instagram post.

San Antonio’s Cowboy Breakfast, the tradition that corrals a whopping 40,000 people for a free bite to eat, announced last December that its in-person event isn’t taking place in 2023. The 45th annual Cowboy Breakfast was scheduled to take place on January 27. The Cowboy Breakfast Foundation said it was unable to meet the timeline to pull the logistics together to implement the 2023 in-person event.

According to Smoke, the free breakfast will be featured at its 3rd annual Kegs & Eggs event on January 27. The business plans to provide entertainment as well as The Spazmatics and Kin Faux will perform. The event also includes a rodeo concert ticket giveaway, a mechanical bull, drink specials, and no cover.

Doors open at 7:30 p.m. at the location at 501 E. Crockett St., San Antonio, TX 78202. The drawings will be for country artists Lee Brice and Dwight Yoakam tickets.
