Smooch-a-Pooch | Emotional support dogs deliver Valentine’s Day love to young hospital patients ❤️

Four facility dogs delivered valentines and puppy love to young patients at Children’s Memorial Hermann Hospital ahead of Valentine’s Day.

HOUSTON — Valentine’s Day came a little early at a Texas children’s hospital, thanks to a team of four-legged helpers spreading smiles and comfort.

Facility dogs at Children’s Memorial Hermann Hospital delivered valentines to patients and visited with staff on Thursday, Feb. 12, bringing a dose of joy to children spending the holiday in the hospital.

Video shows Dexter, Declan, Stephan and Boris making their rounds through the hospital, stopping by patient rooms and even setting up their annual “kissing booth” for staff, an event called Smooch-a-Pooch.

Hospital officials said the dogs help make holidays feel special, even in a medical setting.

“Thanks to these sweet boys, everyone at the hospital feels the love on Valentine’s Day,” the hospital said in a statement. “They always go the extra mile to make sure holidays spent in the hospital still carry a sense of joy and fun.”

For many patients, the pups’ visits were the perfect reminder that sometimes the best Valentine’s gift is simply a little extra love.
