SAN ANTONIO — San Antonio Spurs‘ Jeremy Sochan’s start to the new season will be on hold.
The forward will miss the team’s opening night game versus the Mavericks with a sprained left wrist he suffered during practice on Wednesday.
This injury comes off a strained calf he suffered in the offseason while training with Team Poland for EuroBasket 2025.
Sochan will ultimately not see any court time during the preseason, which concludes Friday versus the Pacers at home.
San Antonio will also be without guard De’Aaron Fox (strained hamstring) for the season opener but both players should return to action soon after the season begins.
BOBAN QUESTIONS WEMBANYAMA’S LISTED HEIGHT
Spurs’ Victor Wembanyama is currently listed officially at 7’4″, but former player Boban Marjanovic has his doubts.
The ex-Spurs big man was a guest on ESPN’s NBA Today and discussed meeting Wemby.
He says that when he met him, he was looking up at the Spurs center, which is startling because Boban is 7’4″ himself.
“I’m 7’4”, and I was looking up at him like no way I’m taller than him,” Marjanovic said.
ESPN’s Brian Windhorst agreed with Marjanovic, believing Wembanyama is much taller.
“I think he might be approaching 7’7”, unofficially,” said Windhorst.
The Spurs have commented on his height, stating he is officially 7’4″.
If true, this is precisely what opposing teams likely did not want to hear: a stronger and taller Wemby heading into his third season.
