
San Antonio police arrested 11 people after shutting down a social media–organized car meet near Loop 410, citing reckless driving and other dangerous violations.
SAN ANTONIO — Eleven people were arrested after San Antonio police shut down a car meet-up over the weekend on the northwest side of San Antonio.
According to the San Antonio Police Department, officers were alerted on Dec. 28 to videos posted on social media showing a car meet in the 7500 block of NW Loop 410 near Military Drive. When officers arrived, they found about 30 vehicles gathered at the location.
Police say they took steps to safely end the event, which led to multiple arrests. In total, 11 people between the ages of 16 and 46 were taken into custody on charges that include reckless driving, child endangerment and driving without a license.
Investigators also recovered one stolen vehicle and identified a suspect connected to an unauthorized use of a motor vehicle case. Fifteen vehicles were impounded, and additional citations were issued for driving with an invalid license and without an operator’s license.
Police say the investigation is ongoing.
