Robert Earl Keen leads a sold-out benefit concert in New Braunfels, drawing attention to potential traffic delays.
SAN ANTONIO — A major Texas flood benefit concert is taking over New Braunfels Thursday evening and traffic delays are possible.
Texas music legend Robert Earl Keen is set to deliver a “star-studded” lineup for the sold-out “Applause for the Cause” concert benefitting the areas impacted by the catastrophic July floods.
Back in July, Buc-ee’s and Keen announced the fundraiser concert on Aug. 28, at Whitewater Amphitheater in New Braunfels.
Comal County Commissioner Precinct 4 Jen Crownover posted on Facebook about a possible traffic alert following the influx of people heading to the benefit concert.
In the post, Crownover said FM306 is likely to be very congested especially in the area between Purgatory Road and Whitewater Way. Concertgoer and local drivers should be aware of the situation.
“We all know the drill, music starts early and it’s a Thursday, so it will be an unusual time and day for this, but I wanted to make sure y’all are at least aware,” Crownover said in the post.
Keen is set to headline the concert and will be joined by several country and Americana artists, including Tyler Childers, Miranda Lambert, Jon Randall, Jack Ingram and Cross Canadian Ragweed. All of the proceeds will go toward the Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country, which has been raising funds in the wake of the deadly Texas floods on July 4.
