Some city offices to close for Juneteenth; Emergency services to remain open

SAN ANTONIO — Many Americans will celebrate Juneteenth on Wednesday, June 19, commemorating the day when the last enslaved people in the United States learned they were free.

Here in San Antonio, City Hall and most municipal offices will be closed in observance of Juneteenth. However, public safety and emergency services will remain in operation, according to a news release from the City of San Antonio.

The news release says the following services will operate as follows on Wednesday:

Waste Collection & Drop Off

 Facilities & Administrative Offices
