Sorry, Texans fans. Team confirms the post about cheap tickets is fake

The bogus post saying owner Cal McNair is offering $10 tickets so “low-income families” can see a game had been shared over 500 times by Thursday afternoon.

HOUSTON — Thousands of Houston Texans fans apparently fell for a fake post about cheap game tickets.

A few days before the team is set to open its 2025 season against the Rams, someone posted that Cal McNair is offering cheap tickets at NRG Stadium.

“GOOD NEWS: Houston Texans owner Cal McNair announces $10 ticket sales for NRG Stadium, allowing thousands of low-income families to see a Houston Texans game for the first time… Fans call it the nicest gesture in team history,” the Facebook post says.

It went up on Tuesday. By late Thursday afternoon, it had over 4,600 likes, nearly 500 comments and hundreds of shares.

Sorry, y’all, but it’s a lie.

The Texans told KHOU 11 that they’ve reported the bogus post to Facebook.

The page with about 13,000 followers is full of other fake posts about Texans players.
