
Families can explore Western art and culture with hands-on crafts and interactive experiences at the museum from March 9–13.
SAN ANTONIO — Families looking for something fun to do over Spring Break can head to the Briscoe Western Art Museum for a week of hands-on activities.
The museum’s annual “Spring Break Roundup” runs March 9–13 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., offering creative crafts and interactive activities inspired by Western art and culture.
Each day features activities tied to the museum’s four pillars of Western art: wildlife and the land, Native people of the Americas, Tejanos and Spanish heritage, and cowboys and the American frontier.
Guests can stop by to create crafts such as weaving, mosaics, piñatas and tin foil art. The museum will also offer STEAM-based activities, incorporating science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics.
Daily activity schedule:
- Monday, March 9: Native People of the Americas crafts
- Tuesday, March 10: Cowboy and Vaqueros crafts
- Wednesday, March 11: Wildlife and the Land crafts during Wild West Wildlife Wednesday
- Thursday, March 12: Tejanos and Spanish Heritage crafts
- Friday, March 13: Full STEAM Ahead, featuring activities connected to science, technology, engineering, art and math
“Spring Break Roundup” activities are included with museum admission and no reservations are required. Children 12 and younger receive free admission to the museum, and active-duty military members are also admitted for free.
Museum officials say children must be accompanied by an adult.
