Sprouts Farmers Market grows first $5.8M store in this Austin suburb

The Arizona-founded organic groceries and specialty products chain is expanding its footprint in Central Texas, adding to the brand’s repertoire of nearly 60 existing locations in and around the Lone Star State. Right now, the Austin area is home to seven Sprouts stores — but that’ll soon change, according to project filings with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.

The future Leander store will be constructed at the intersection of U.S. Hwy 183 and San Gabriel Parkway, an area of the city that is already home to medical facilities, residential neighborhoods, an H-E-B, fast food restaurants and bakeries. Leander is home to 80,000 residents some 27 miles northwest of Austin.

It’s not the only Texas location coming down the construction pipeline for Sprouts. The farmers market chain has near-term openings planned in Dallas’ Kessler Park neighborhood on June 20, as well as a planned Burleson location opening on June 27.

Other Central Texas and Hill Country stores in development include a targeted 2026 opening in Boerne, a March 2026 storefront unveiling in Bastrop, a potential 2026 opening in New Braunfels and an upcoming location in Kyle.
