Here’s a sample of what the Spurs said after the game.
Mitch Johnson:
“I think we did in the sense that we knew they were playing well, and I do believe we had the appropriate fear. I don’t know if we were putting the right energy into the right stuff for the whole game, but that’s part of the challenge. And these games are tough when you’re home for three or six hours. Not an excuse at all and everybody does it, but we had to get going a little bit, and we finally did.”
“You got to pick your poison. You’re either going to let us play one-on-one at the rim or you’re going to help and you’re going to let us kick out and get three. I think when we had days we didn’t shoot the ball so great, but we shot the ball good enough where we can get over the hump and I think that’s what we did today.”
Luke Kornet:
“I feel like our competitive level has been there. I feel like honestly personally, I feel like I’ve could be playing a lot better, especially in the last several games. So that’s kind of perspective that I have on it. Obviously we’ve had some pretty big games against different teams that kind of play some different looks and stuff like that. So honestly I feel like Washington’s a team that challenges you pretty well in terms of a lot of off the ball, a lot of screening, just a lot of motion and stuff like that.”
