Make it three wins in a row! Here’s what the Spurs said after their victory over the Raptors.
SAN ANTONIO — The San Antonio Spurs defeated the Toronto Raptors 123-89 on the road, led by Devin Vassell’s 25 points. San Antonio is now riding a three-game winning streak.
Keldon Johnson scored seven points, and Chris Paul had two points and six assists. Julian Champagnie added 20 points and five rebounds. Stephon Castle finished with 15 and one assists, and Harrison Barnes recorded 10. Blake Wesley finished with eight.
The Spurs are 31-39 this season and will take on the Pistons on Tuesday night on the road.
Here’s a sample of what the Spurs said after the game.
Mitch Johnson:
“The defensive activity, and I think it was the most connected we’ve been. The most communication, I think, that we heard from the guys. Navigating, action screens, things that were happening in the court. It has to take five guys in the court to figure out what’s right.”
Champagnie:
“Shoot. My teammates found me. I think that’s the biggest thing. So a couple go in early, and you get rolling.”
“Great performance tonight from everybody. Huge team win. We need that. It’s our third win in a row, and then we want to keep this thing going.”
“Our defense, 100%. Even in our last game, we were picking up and just pressured. As long as we’ve been pressuring the ball and then being in the passing lanes, again, steals and out in transition. Once we’re out in transition, that’s our best offense. So we just got to keep pressuring on defense and just keep being disruptive.”
