Here’s a sample of what the Spurs and Mavericks said after the game.

Mitch Johnson:

“I think we’ve gotten back the last few games to playing with our pace. We took a step back there for a minute, and again, they started getting some bumps and bruises that can sometimes be one of the first things that go, especially during that time of the year. Everybody wants to play fast. At the start of the year, it’s hard to maintain it. I think we’ve gotten back to that over the last few games. I think we’ve seen the advantages we can create and just the pressure that we can put on our defense, and we continue to play with pace.”

“It just felt good to be out there. Pick my spots well. I didn’t have to really force anything. I feel like a lot of my buckets were either wide open or easy ones that I created for myself.”

Wembanyama:

“Winning is so important for me that I’m willing to sacrifice individual stats…the best way to help my team win is by being a great player as well, a great individual player. But ultimately, I’ll do whatever it takes to win.”

Coach Jason Kidd, Marvin Bagley III, and Tyus Jones:
