Vassell’s Peachtree Ridge High No. 24 jersey was retired with De’Aaron Fox and his Spurs teammates in attendance.
SAN ANTONIO — San Antonio Spurs‘ Devin Vassell had his Peachtree Ridge High School basketball jersey retired in front of a packed gym in his hometown of Suwanee, Georgia.
The school raised Vassell’s No. 24 jersey to the rafters Tuesday night with his Spurs teammates in attendance.
Jeremy Sochan, Harrison Ingram, Malaki Branham, Keldon Johnson, Julian Champagnie and the newest member of the team, De’Aaron Fox, were in attendance to support Vassell in his career milestone.
His friends and family were also in attendance.
The crowd and Vassell’s Spurs teammates wore T-shirts to commemorate his big night. He then gave a speech thanking everyone for their support.






In his senior year, Vassell averaged 21.6 points and 8.9 rebounds per game before committing to Florida State.
The Spurs did announce that Fox is available for their match versus the Hawks on Wednesday night.
