Spurs’ Fox shouts out Blake Wesley; Zach Collins admits he was sad to leave San Antonio

“They did so much for my career,” ex-Spur Zach Collins said about the Spurs.

SAN ANTONIO — San Antonio Spurs‘ De’Aaron Fox showed his support for teammate Blake Wesley on social media, and he’s anticipating great things ahead for the Spurs guard.

“Big summer coming, my boy,” posted Fox on Instagram.

Expect Fox and Wesley to work out this summer before the 2025-26 season, which should greatly benefit Wesley’s basketball growth.

After sitting on the bench for most of last season, Wesley ended the season averaging a season-high 6.0 points per game, 2.1 rebounds, and 2.8 assists in eight games.

EX-SPUR ZACH COLLINS ON HIS TIME IN SAN ANTONIO

Zach Collins was traded to the Bulls last season, but he has not forgotten how much the Spurs helped him in his career.

The former Spurs big man spoke with ScoopB.com and admitted he was sad to leave San Antonio.

“Obviously, I’m sad about leaving San Antonio because the people there are unbelievable and they did so much for my career,” Collins said.

Collins signed with the Spurs in January 2022 and was assigned to the Austin Spurs to continue rehab from an ankle injury.

Once the Spurs recalled him from Austin, he revived his NBA career after suffering numerous injuries with Portland. In 2023-24, he’d finish the season averaging 11.2 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 2.8 assists.

In addition, he also shared his thoughts on playing for Gregg Popovich.

“I would say honestly, the biggest difference is with Pop, we did a lot of film sessions where we would learn about the world and what was going on in the world, and Pop was teaching life as well as teaching basketball,” he said.
