The Spurs are engaging local nonprofits by giving NBA Finals tickets to children-focused groups, part of a broader initiative supporting community access to games.
SAN ANTONIO — Amid the NBA Finals’ long-awaited return to San Antonio – and the cheapest tickets costing hundreds of dollars – representatives with Spurs Sprots & Entertainment said the team plans to provide up to 1,000 free tickets to the championship series to local children-focused nonprofits.
It’s part of an ongoing effort that the team said provided 22,000 tickets to Alamo City organizations during the 2025-2026 regular season.
“The initiative is designed to create opportunities for young people and families who may not otherwise have the chance to attend a Spurs game and experience the excitement of game night,” the Spurs said in a press release.
Gardopia, which promotes healthy living habits; The Good Hood, which works to create opportunity on the east side; and YMCA, celebrating its 150th anniversary this year, were among the 11 organizations that received tickets to Game 1 against the New York Knicks on Wednesday night.
