Spurs hosting ‘Her Time to Play’ basketball clinic; Austin Spurs’ Miller heading to All-Star Weekend 2025

Julian Champagnie and Keldon Johnson will participate in the ‘Her Time to Play’ basketball clinic.

SAN ANTONIO — The San Antonio Spurs are partnering with Self Financial to host a Spurs “Her Time to Play” basketball clinic for young female athletes and a corresponding financial education workshop with their parents and guardians.

Julian Champagnie and Keldon Johnson will participate and help lead the private clinic.

“This event is a beautiful example of how powerful our impact can be when we partner with industry leaders like Self to share our respective areas of expertise – basketball and financial literacy – with our local community,” said Dr. Kara Allen, Chief People, Impact and Belonging Officer at Spurs Sports & Entertainment in a release. “We’re so grateful to Self, our SSA coaches, Julian and Keldon, for lending their expertise and time to make this event educational and empowering for all.”

The clinic will feature over 50 local female athletes, who will be taught dribbling and shooting skills and then play. During the skills clinic, the athletes’ parents and guardians will have the chance to learn from Monique White, Head of Community and Accredited Financial Counselor at Self, in a financial and credit education workshop, equipping them with valuable tools to achieve financial wellness.

Community outreach is key for the Spurs, and it is evident in this clinic and in the recent Spurs Math Hoops Live, where Blake Wesley helped promote mathematics among young students.
