SAN ANTONIO β€” It’s time to catch up on some San Antonio Spurs news that you may have missed.

ROOKIE WEMBANYAMA PLAYING AT THE 2024 NBA ALL-STAR SKILLS CHALLENGE

Victor Wembanyama will reportedly play at the 2024 NBA All-Star Skills Challenge event in Indianapolis.

Following Monday’s game versus the Hawks, he all but confirmed he will be playing saying he doesn’t think he will be practicing for the event.

SPURS BLOOD DRIVE

Spurs Sports & Entertainment and the South Texas Blood & Tissue Center will host a blood drive this Thursday, Jan. 18 at Frost Bank Center. 

 The first 400 donors will receive a free pair of tickets for the Spurs’ Jan. 29 home game as they host the Washington Wizards.

AUSTIN SPURS UPDATE, MOODY CENTER GAME & MILITARY NIGHT

After starting the regular season at 5-0, the Austin Spurs have now lost three straight games. Austin is currently 5-3 and is coming off a loss versus the Mexico City Capitanes, 122-116.

Austin will next face Memphis in Cedar Park, TX on Jan. 18.

The Austin Spurs also announced the team will play a regular season game at Moody Center on Saturday, March 16. The Spurs will host the Capital City Go-Go at 4 p.m. This game will take place the day between two San Antonio Spurs games occurring that weekend in the annual I-35 Series.

β€œWe’re excited to host three consecutive nights of Spurs basketball at Moody Center,” Tim Salier, SS&E Senior VP of Business Development & Austin Spurs President of Business Operations said in a release. β€œFor more than a decade, the Austin Spurs have been an important part of the success the San Antonio Spurs have enjoyed. To have the Austin Spurs participate in Spurs Week is a natural connection as we celebrate our fan base across the Austin community.”

The team also announced that it will be hosting Military Appreciation Night on Jan. 18. Military members and their families can score up to four free tickets to the game as well!
