Here’s what to know about the nationally televised matchup as the Spurs look to gain more ground on the top-seeded Thunder in the West.
SAN ANTONIO — Excitement is mounting in San Antonio as the Spurs prepare for their first taste of playoff action in the Victor Wembanyama era.
With the number of regular season games remaining now in the single-digits, there is still an opportunity for the Silver & Black to catch Oklahoma City in the standings. Entering Saturday, the Spurs sit at No. 2, two and a half games back of the defending champs.
If they want to catch up, they’ll have to take care of business in Milwaukee on Saturday afternoon, where the Spurs will take on a floundering Bucks team that is 2-8 over its last 10 games. Ten-time All-star Giannis Antetokounmpo has been listed as out with a knee injury, a development that’s been tied to the ongoing league debate over tanking after the player’s union on Tuesday issued a statement that appeared to call out the Bucks.
San Antonio, meanwhile is 23-2 since the start of February as Wembanyama continues to build his case for MVP. The Spurs will be hunting their eighth straight win in Milwaukee to cap a three-game road trip.
Here’s what to know ahead of tipoff at 2 p.m. CT.
