Spurs rank as the least-dirtiest team in the NBA; Austin Spurs complete trade with OKC Blue

The San Antonio Spurs are the NBA’s cleanest team, with minimal fines and suspensions.

SAN ANTONIO — When it comes to playing it clean on the court, the San Antonio Spurs are the best in the NBA.

A recent list from RotoWire ranked the dirtiest teams in the NBA from 2015-25. It was measured by team fines and suspensions given by the league. Additionally, it utilized Spotrac’s “NBA Fines & Suspensions” database, which compiles fines, fine totals, suspensions, and games lost.

And the Silver and Black ranked No. 30, making them the least-dirtiest team.

Over the time span, the Spurs have racked up 155 fines, totaling $449,000, and two player suspensions, resulting in six total games being suspended.

Clearly, this is a reflection on former head coach Gregg Popovich and his conviction that players should approach wins and losses with grace. Not to mention strong on-court leadership from David Robinson, Manu Ginobili, Tim Duncan (who once pulled Tony Parker by the jersey away from arguing with a ref and flirting with getting tossed), and Avery Johnson.
