Spurs send their thoughts to those impacted by the Hill Country flooding; David Robinson’s son, Justin, joins Lakers coaching staff

The Spurs show their support for those impacted by the devastating flooding in the Texas Hill Country.

SAN ANTONIO — The Texas Hill Country was the scene of devastating flash flooding that saw loss of lives and damage to many cities that will need years to recover from this natural disaster.

And the San Antonio Spurs sent their thoughts to the Hill Country on social media.

“We’re heartbroken by the tragic flooding in the Hill Country. To every family grieving and every first responder helping others through the worst, please know the Spurs family is with you and holding you close in our thoughts. Our hearts are especially heavy for the children and their families whose lives have been forever changed.”

The Spurs have always looked out for San Antonio and the surrounding cities in times of need.

In the aftermath of the Uvalde, TX, Robb Elementary mass shooting, the Spurs were there to help that community recover and try to move forward.

There are many ways for Spurs fans to help out.

Two area emergency clinics, located at 101 Wilson Drive, Suite 102 in Floresville, and 4825 FM 3009, Suite 200 in Schertz, are accepting donations of water, non-perishable food, first aid kits, clothing, flashlights, and other essential items through July 10.

Roadmap Brewing Company (723 N. Alamo St.) is accepting donations through Tuesday at its downtown location.

JUSTIN ROBINSON JOINS LAKERS COACHING STAFF

Spurs legend David Robinson’s son, Justin, has been hired by the Los Angeles Lakers coaching staff and will serve as a player development assistant.

Robinson comes to the Lakers with experience. He served as the Duke Blue Devils’ director of player development. At Duke, he played a significant role in developing Cooper Flagg, Kon Knueppel, and Khman Maluach, which was reflected in their early selection in the 2025 NBA Draft.
