Spurs’ Stephon Castle makes the NBA All-Rookie First Team

SAN ANTONIO — The NBA announced that San Antonio Spurs‘ Stephon Castle has been unanimously selected to the 2024-25 Kia NBA All-Rookie First Team. The 2024-25 Rookie of the Year becomes the 13th player in Spurs franchise history to earn the honor and is the third consecutive Spur to receive All-Rookie recognition, following Jeremy Sochan in 2023 and Victor Wembanyama last year.  

Castle averaged 14.7 points per game, 4.1 assists, 3.7 rebounds, and 0.91 steals in his rookie campaign. He led all rookies in total points, field goals, total steals, and made free throws. He exploded in March, posting 20.6 points per game on 49% shooting.

He was also named the West Rookie of the Month in both January and March, the MVP of the 2025 Rising Stars during All-Star Weekend.

After receiving the Rookie of the Year Award, Castle shared that he’ll be targeted more on the court next season but is ready for the challenge. His budding NBA career has plenty more accolades on the horizon.

“This was definitely a goal of mine coming into the year,” he said about winning the Rookie fo the Year Award.
