SAN ANTONIO — The NBA announced Stephon Castle as the Western Conference KIA Rookie of the Month for the month of March.
Castle now joins David Robinson, Tim Duncan and Victor Wembanyama as the only players in Spurs franchise history to win the award multiple times in a single season.
In the Month of March, Castle averaged a rookie-best 19.5 points, 4.4 rebounds and 4.8 assists in 28.8 minutes. During that span, the 2025 Rising Stars MVP scored double-figure points in 15 of 17 games and scored 20+ in nine of those games. Castle was the only rookie to make 100+ field goals in the month. He also led the rookie class in free throws made (70) while his 81 assists ranked second.
From March 14-29, Castle became the sixth Spurs rookie to to have a streak nine-game streak of 15 points or more in each game.
Against the top-three defenses in the entire NBA, Castle averaged 25.5 points, 6.3 assists and 6.3 rebounds:
- March 2 vs. Oklahoma City Thunder: 32 points, 8 rebounds and 3 assists
- March 27 vs. Cleveland: 22 points, 11 rebounds and 8 assists
- March 29 vs. Boston: 22 points, 8 assists and 2 rebounds
Castle also became the first rookie since 2022 to have a stat line of 17 points, a season-best 14 assists, 5 rebounds and 3 steals in a 128-120 victory over Philadelphia on March 21.
The Spurs’ first-year guard is the only rookie with 1,000+ points this season and leads all rookies in scoring (14.2 ppg), Field Goals Made (372) and Free Throws Made (210).
