Spurs’ partner Michael Dell and his wife pledge $6.25 billion to fund investment accounts for 25 million U.S. children under 10 years old.
SAN ANTONIO — The San Antonio Spurs’ strategic partner, Michael Dell, has announced that he and his wife have pledged $6.25 billion to help 25 million American children under 10, as an incentive to claim the new investment accounts (“Trump Accounts“) for children created as part of President Trump’s tax and spending legislation.
“Our gift will cover most of the children that are 10 or under that are not part of the federal program, the zero to two year olds,” said Dell at a press conference.
Through the donation, the Dells will deposit $250 into each qualified child’s investment account. The “Trump Accounts” will launch on July 4, 2026.
“Trump accounts will be the first – I guess you could say – first real trust funds for every American child, allowing family members, employers, corporations, and generous donors to contribute money that will be invested and grow,” Trump said in a press conference at the White House about the Dells’ donation.
The Dells’ donations will go to children living in zip codes with median household incomes below $150,000. Qualifying children will get approximately $250.
