Spurs television ratings reflect massive growth; Bruce Bowen spreads holiday cheer in San Antonio

San Antonio Spurs games are captivating fans, with streaming views on FanDuel more than tripling last year’s.

SAN ANTONIO — The San Antonio Spurs are must-see television and the ratings reflect that.

The team announced that streaming viewership of Spurs games on FanDuel Sports Network has more than tripled compared to the same period last season, and the Total Audience Delivery across all platforms is up 35%, the network announced.

The average number of unique streamers for Spurs games on the network is up 223%, while total minutes streamed are up 219% year over year. Spurs fans, on average, are streaming an impressive 95.5 minutes per game. 

According to FanDuel, these measurements include streaming on the FanDuel Sports Network app among direct subscribers and fans who authenticate through a pay-TV provider, as well as subscribers to the FanDuel Sports Network channel on Prime Video.

“We’re thrilled to see growth in Spurs viewership across both traditional linear TV and especially streaming,” said Sarah Tourville, Executive Vice President of Team Partnerships for FanDuel Sports Network in the Southwest region, in a release. “The Spurs have an exciting team on the court, and their collaboration has helped us expand the ways their passionate fans watch each night.”

The numbers also showed that the Spurs’ Nov. 20 game versus Golden State was streamed by more than 20,000 unique accounts – the most on record.

Fans are tuning in to watch the Silver and Black when the season started. Looking at the first five Spurs broadcasts of the season, household viewership over the first five locally broadcast games is up 76% from last year.

The Spurs-Pelicans game on Nov. 24 on KENS 5 TV was the most-viewed locally broadcast regular-season game since March 28, 2019.

The Spurs-Heat game on Nov. 30 on FanDuel Sports Southwest was the most-viewed game on FanDuel Sports Southwest since January 2, 2020.

BRUCE BOWEN BRINGS HOLIDAY CHEER TO THE SAN ANTONIO COMMUNITY

The Spurs and Bruce Bowen joined Methodist Healthcare and Methodist Healthcare Ministries staff to spread holiday cheer at their 13th annual Christmas Tree Donation event. 

The event gave away more than 150 decorated Christmas trees and holiday wreaths to existing patients and clients.
