Dylan Harper has been chosen as a rookie, Stephon Castle has been chosen as a sophomore and David Jones Garcia has been chosen as a G-Leaguer.
SAN ANTONIO — The Spurs will have three representatives in the 2026 Rising Stars game in February.
2025 No. 2 overall pick Dylan Harper was selected as a rookie. He is currently averaging 10.2 points, 3.5 assists and 3.3 rebounds this year in 35 games. Other rookies are Cedric Coward, Egor Demin, VJ Edgecombe, Jeremiah Fears, Cooper Flagg, Tre Johnson, Kon Knueppel, Collin Murray-Boyles and Derik Queen.
Reigning Rookie of the Year Stephon Castle was selected as a sophomore. He is averaging 16.9 points, 7.1 assists and 5 rebounds (all career highs) in 36 games. He also won the Rising Stars MVP in this game last year as a rookie. Other sophomores are Matas Buzelis, Donovan Clingan, Kyshawn George, Ajay Mitchell, Alex Sarr, Reed Sheppard, Cam Spencer, Jaylon Tyson, Kel’el Ware and Jaylen Wells.
Two-way player David Jones Garcia has been selected as one of seven G-League players to compete in the game as well. In nine games with the Austin Spurs, Jones Garcia averages a league-best 26.8 points per game. In 11 games for the San Antonio Spurs, he has averaged 2.9 points, 1.6 assists and 1.2 rebounds in 6.2 rebounds.
Notably, Dylan Harper’s brother Ron Harper Jr. was also selected as one of the G-League players. Other G-Leaguers are Sean East II, Yanic Nonan Niederhauser, Alijah Martin, Tristen Newton and Yang Hansen.
Unlike prior years, rookies aren’t playing with rookies and sophomores aren’t playing with sophomores. Instead, three Rising Stars teams will be drafted on Jan. 27, while a fourth team will be comprised of G-League players, including David Jones Garcia.
The four teams will compete in a tournament on Friday, Feb. 13 during All-Star Weekend.
