Spurs to host Native American Heritage Night with performances, tributes

The San Antonio Spurs will celebrate Native American Heritage Night on April 6 with cultural performances, tributes and community events.

SAN ANTONIO — The San Antonio Spurs are set to celebrate culture, community and history during their upcoming Native American Heritage Night.

The event will take place Monday, April 6, when the Spurs host the Philadelphia 76ers at Frost Bank Center. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.

The night will feature live performances, cultural storytelling and in-game tributes designed to honor Native American heritage in San Antonio and beyond.

The Spurs are partnering with several organizations, including American Indians in Texas at the Spanish Colonial Missions, the Lindy Waters III Foundation and Nike N7, to bring the event to life.

Fans can expect a variety of experiences throughout the evening, including a pregame land acknowledgment ceremony, cultural performances and opportunities to learn more about Native history and local organizations.

A special highlight of the night will include a $5,000 grant presented to community leaders, along with tributes recognizing contributions to Native communities across Texas.

Spurs player Lindy Waters III said the event is about representation and honoring tradition.

“Events like this honor our ancestors and create visibility for our people,” he said.

The celebration is part of the Spurs’ broader effort to highlight diverse cultures throughout the season and create meaningful connections with the community.

Tickets are available now through the Spurs website.
