SAN ANTONIO — The San Antonio Spurs have traded for another big man, according to NBA insider Shams Charania.
The Spurs have traded Malaki Branham, Blake Wesley and a second-round pick for Wizards center Kelly Olynyk. That second-round pick is the least favorable of Dallas, Philadelphia and Oklahoma City.
34-year-old Olynyk spent last year with the Toronto Raptors and New Orleans Pelicans where he averaged 8.7 points, 4.7 rebounds and 2.9 assists. His best year came in 2020-21 season where he averaged 13.5 points for the Miami Heat and Houston Rockets.
Olynyk was just involved in a 3-team trade that sent CJ McCollum to the Washington Wizards on July 6. That trade also sent Jordan Poole to the Pelicans. Later on, the Houston Rockets’ Cam Whitmore was added to the trade being sent to Washington.
