San Antonio Spurs’ two-way player David Jones Garcia faces a setback following ankle surgery, the team announced.

SAN ANTONIO — San Antonio Spurs two-guard David Jones Garcia is out for the season after suffering a right ankle injury that required surgery, the team announced.

The swingman suffered the injury on Jan. 10 during an Austin Spurs game versus the South Bay Lakers. San Antonio will provide updates as needed.

Jones Garcia shared the news on his social media, posting a photo of himself post-surgery in good spirits and captioned, “All glory to the man above.”

Garcia stood out for the 2025 Summer League Spurs squad, earning All-Summer League first-team honors, which led to him securing a two-way deal with San Antonio in July 2025.

He appeared in 11 games for San Antonio, averaging 2.9 points per game and 1.6 assists. One of his best performances was against Utah in an overtime thriller, where he scored 20 points.

He shone with the Austin Spurs, averaging 25.5 points per game, 41% field goal shooting, 6.5 rebounds and 3.7 assists in 24 regular-season games.

His play earned him a spot on the 2026 G League Next Up squad, participating in the 2026 Rising Stars Game during All-Star Weekend.
