The San Antonio Spurs bring back their beloved Fiesta-themed City Edition jerseys.
SAN ANTONIO — The San Antonio Spurs announced the return of the fan-favorite Fiesta-themed City Edition jerseys. This marks the team’s return to this jersey since it was first introduced for the 2020-21 season.
The retail collection, including the full uniform, will be available for purchase at Spurs fan shops and online at SpursFanShop.com on Tuesday, Nov. 11, and will be celebrated with a free launch party that afternoon, presented by Ledger, at The Rock at La Cantera. For full party details, visit Spurs.com/CityEdition or text FIESTA to 210-444-5940.
The new City Edition design pays homage to the franchise’s 1990s colorway: a black base with the fiesta orange, pink, and teal stripes across the chest, “San Antonio” on the front of the jersey, and a spur to dot the “I.”
The team’s new patch partner, Ledger, appears on each jersey, symbolizing security, innovation, and ownership both on and off the court.
The team will have a Spurs City Edition court this season, featuring a brand-new take on the Fiesta theme, most notably the paintbrush-stroke logo at center court for the first time since 2002, the Spurs’ last season playing in the Alamodome. Fiesta colors are carried throughout, on the baseline and in the paint, against the background of the Spurs’ black, and introducing the logo of their all-new jersey patch partner, Ledger, and longtime partner Self.
“This season’s City Edition jersey gives a new generation of Spurs players the honor of stepping into the city’s story and carrying it forward,” said Jordan Mandelkorn, Vice President of Marketing, Creative & Retail at Spurs Sports & Entertainment, in a release. “With each evolution of the City Edition, we’ve found new ways to celebrate San Antonio’s heritage while reflecting the energy of the next generation, connecting past and present and reminding us that our history is always part of our future.”
The team’s classic warmups inspired the jerseys the players wore in the 1990s, but they were never on the jerseys until the 2020-21 season and now.
The Fiesta jerseys will return to the court when the players wear them on Nov. 12 at the Frost Bank Center against the Warriors, and for an additional 10 games in the City Nights slate.
The Spurs have also revealed the team’s new Statement Edition jersey, which pays homage to the ABA jersey with “San Antonio” across the chest in a gray-and-black colorway.
