“Expanding my game is not thinking twice when you want to do something crazy,” Wembanyama said.

SAN ANTONIO — San Antonio Spurs‘ Victor Wembanyama is the cover man for the latest edition of Sports Illustrated.

The accompanying article highlights Wemby’s NBA ascension, his learning curve, and how much he enjoys other aspects of life outside of basketball.

It also focuses on his goal to excel on the floor and remain the best in the league.

“Expanding my game is not thinking twice when you want to do something crazy. I don’t think I’ve had one game where I really applied everything. Not one. I want eventually to have a wide variety of tools that I’ve really mastered. I don’t want to have a role on the court,” Wembanyama said. “I don’t want to be the shot blocker. I don’t want to be the scorer. I don’t want to be the playmaker. I want to be all of this at once.”

WHAT ARE WEMBY’S FOUR FAVORITE STAR WARS CHARACTERS?

By now, everyone knows Wemby is a massive Star Wars fan.

But which are his three favorite characters from that universe?

In a chat with Sports Illustrated, the Spurs center listed his top four favorite characters from the Star Wars universe.

“I got Obi-Wan [Kenobi] up there. Like the best characters? I need to go with Luke [Skywalker] at two, then Han Solo and Annikin [Skywalker],” he said.

As a fellow Star Wars geek, I approve of Wemby’s Star Wars list.
