Spurs’ Wembanyama has a rigorous pregame routine; Spurs announce NBA All-Star Flyaway Sweepstakes

Here’s your chance to be a part of NBA All-Star 2025.

SAN ANTONIO — San Antonio Spurs‘ Victor Wembanyama has a target on his back from opposing teams every game.

Teams will double or triple-team him, hack him, push and shove him, and do whatever it takes to gain an advantage over him.

And he and his trainer are well aware of this and prepare for the physical battle he will endure.

Check out the video of Wemby’s unique pregame prep, which involves getting shoved and deliberately hacked at his arms ahead of games.

Teams often employ various defensive tactics against Wembanyama. Common strategies include switching different defenders, doubling him at the elbow, removing his scoring options, or getting physical with him. However, defending him is quite a chore.

This season, Wemby is currently attempting 4.2 free throw attempts per game.
