Spurs’ Wembanyama to miss ‘a few weeks’ due to left calf strain, sources say

SAN ANTONIO — Victor Wembanyama is slated to be sidelined “for a few weeks” due to a left calf strain, according to NBA insider Shams Charania.

Wembanyama missed the Kings game Sunday due to the injury, but now he’s expected miss a lot more time than fans initially expected.

In his 12 games this season, Wemby is averaging 26.2 points, 12.9 rebounds, 4 assists and 3.6 blocks.

Backup center Luke Kornet started against the Kings Sunday in relief of Wemby, and Kelly Olynyk was the backup center.

The Spurs are 9-4 on the season but are now missing Wembanyama and Dylan Harper.
