SAN ANTONIO — Coming off the bad news that San Antonio Spurs‘ Victor Wembanyama is out for the season with deep vein thrombosis (blood clots), the team’s center was spotted shopping at the city’s Ironside Antiques Mall.

The store shared a photo he snapped with fans, showing that he was in good spirits despite his current medical condition.

“Even the cold weather couldn’t keep Wemby away,” Ironside Mall posted.

Wemby is expected to recover fully in time for the 2025-26 season. Check out the latest Locked On Spurs episode for more information on deep vein thrombosis.

SPURS GIVE AND FROST BANK AWARD $200,000 TO LOCAL ORGANIZATIONS

The Spurs announced that Spurs Give and Frost Bank awarded $200,000 to two local organizations as part of Operation Renovation.

The funding was granted to Essence Preparatory and SAY Sí to help enhance their facilities to provide students with safe places to play and learn. Online 2025-26 Operation Renovation Grant applications will be open in early November.

“We are so excited to continue our seventh year of Operation Renovation with Frost,” said Julie McCarty, Director of Community Investments for Spurs Sports & Entertainment (SS&E), in a release. “These grants don’t just fund upgrades—they open doors to new opportunities, and we’re proud to invest in these efforts for our community.”

The grant will fund Essence, allowing the creation of a dance studio and the installation of brand-new mirrors, bars, and other equipment. SAY Sí plans to use the funding to enhance safety and accessibility in its facility.
