Stockdale ISD educator charged after investigation into alleged inappropriate relationship with student

The accused teacher, 34-year-old Peter Leach, was located and arrested without incident Tuesday afternoon, authorities said.

STOCKDALE, Texas — The Wilson County Sheriff’s Office said an educator at Stockdale High School who resigned following an investigation into allegations of an inappropriate relationship with a student, has been arrested.

The sheriff’s office said an investigation into the allegations was launched after it was brought to the attention of Stockdale ISD officials who reported it to authorities on Monday.

The accused teacher, 34-year-old Peter Leach, resigned from the district when made aware of the pending investigation, according to authorities.

Investigators obtained arrest warrants for Leach and he was located and arrested without incident Tuesday afternoon. He has been charged with improper relationship between an educator and student and indecency with a child.

“The safety of every student and their well being is the highest priority here at Stockdale ISD,” said Superintendent Todd Deaver in a statement. “While we know this news is concerning to our Stockdale ISD community, we want to reassure you that we are here to support our staff, students and families during this time.”

The sheriff’s office said Leach is being held in the Wilson County Jail and bond has not been set at this time. This investigation remains ongoing.
