Stolen vehicle recovered at North Star Mall leads to arrests, gun seizure

San Antonio police arrested two suspects and recovered a firearm after locating a stolen vehicle during a patrol at North Star Mall.

SAN ANTONIO — San Antonio police say a proactive patrol at North Star Mall led to the recovery of a stolen vehicle, multiple arrests, and the seizure of a firearm.

According to the San Antonio Police Department, North SAFFE officers were monitoring parking lots in the area due to a recent increase in vehicle burglaries. During their patrol at North Star Mall, officers located a vehicle that had been reported stolen.

Police say the discovery led to the arrest of Jesus Rodriguez, 17, who was identified as the driver. He is facing charges including unauthorized use of a vehicle, evading arrest, and unlawful carrying of a weapon.

An 18-year-old passenger, Joshua Zane Williams, was also arrested and charged with evading arrest. Police noted Williams has a previous conviction.

Authorities say a third juvenile suspect has been identified but remains outstanding.

Officers recovered the stolen vehicle and a firearm during the incident. Both suspects were booked, and police say the case remains under investigation.
