Stop me if you’ve heard this before… hot and humid again Wednesday!

KEY POINTS:

  • ‘Heat high’ still in control – mid/upper 90s each afternoon
  • Feels-like temperatures approach 105° – 108°
  • Isolated coastal showers, most miss out
  • Monitoring Saharan dust by the weekend

FORECAST DETAILS:

Good morning!

Wednesday will be very similar to the past several days: turning partly cloudy in the afternoon with highs in the mid/upper 90s.

Factor in the humidity, though, and heat indices could approach the 105° – 108° range this afternoon. As a result, Heat Advisories have once again been issued for areas along and east of the I-35 corridor, but everyone needs to take it easy out in the heat!

Also like the past few days, a few isolated showers can’t be ruled out this afternoon, mainly south and east of San Antonio/closer to the Gulf Coast.

Other than that, rain chances are pretty much out of the forecast over the next several days. However, a cluster of storms moving around the far eastern edge of our ‘heat high’ looks to move through Northeast Texas overnight Wednesday.

All indications point towards this weakening and eventually fizzling out as it approaches our far eastern counties by Thursday morning, but we’ll keep a 20% chance in the forecast should a few leftover showers survive the journey.

AFRICAN DUST:

African dust (Saharan Air Layer) is expected to stream over San Antonio sky by late Friday/early Saturday, but the amount will be light to moderate.

You’ll mostly just notice an extra haze in the sky and more vibrant sunrises & sunsets for a few days.
