Street takeover! Siclovia returns to Broadway in April

San Antonio’s streets transform for Siclovia on April 12, offering a car-free space for active fun. Celebrate with Reclovias and the YMCA’s 150th anniversary.

SAN ANTONIO — It’s almost time to take over the streets as the popular event, Siclovia, returns to San Antonio.

The event will run Sunday, April 12, 2026 along a stretch of Broadway from downtown to just north of downtown. The event is free and open to the community and turns the streets into a safe place for exercise and play. Participants can bike, run, skateboard or anything else they want to do without fear of cars.

It also features Reclovias along the way providing information and enterrainment. The Reclovia areas include free group exercise classes, free live music, places to eat, water stations, and rest areas. Restrooms will be strategically placed along the route as well. The event is also open to pets, but organizers ask that you keep them on a leash.

This year’s route will span from McCullough Ave at KLRN studios parking lot, featuring Reclovias at River North parking lot (Make Ready Market), Maverick Park, Lions Field, and Mulberry Avenue at Brackenridge Park. This year’s event is also celebrating the YMCA of Greater San Antonio’s 150th anniversary.

For drivers that day, the roads to be completely closed one hour before the event and reopened one hour after the event is over.

The April 12th event takes place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Autumn Lopez at autumnl@ymcasatx.org. Volunteers can choose to help the day of the event only or the weeks before the event by helping with volunteer training and event planning and promotion.
