Reason: Widespread rain is expected early Friday morning with chance for localized flooding.

Flood Watch: The National Weather Service says a Flood Watch will be in place starting at 9 p.m. Thursday and extending through Friday evening for Bandera, Bastrop, Bexar, Blanco, Burnet, Caldwell, Comal, Edwards, Fayette, Gillespie, Gonzales, Guadalupe, Hays, Kendall, Kerr, Kinney, Lee, Llano, Medina, Real, Travis, Uvalde, Val Verde, Williamson and Wilson counties.

A strong spring cold front is generating an active weather pattern that will continue through Friday.

South-Central Texas is expected to experience a late spring cold front, which will spark some strong to severe storms and locally heavy rain that could lead to flooding.

Wednesday night brought severe storms to counties west of San Antonio, generating hail and gusty winds. Thursday brought some clearing, with isolated storms in the afternoon.

But another round of storms should arrive late Thursday into Friday morning—bringing additional rounds of heavy rain, which could cause localized flooding.

The storm system is expected to move along east by Friday evening, with cooler temperatures and a sunny weekend ahead.
