Firefighters battled a house fire on Fairacres Way after it started on a back deck and spread to an exterior wall.
SAN ANTONIO — Firefighters battled a house fire in a neighborhood on the northeast side Wednesday afternoon.
The fire started on a back deck and spread to an exterior wall at a home on Fairacres Way, near Loop 1604 and I-35.
Fire crews say the family’s teenage son was alerted to the fire by the dogs. Officials say the fire spread to the attic and caused smoke and water damage to the inside of the house.
Fire officials say the high winds Wednesday may have cause the fire to spread. They are warning people that any spark or ember can lead to a major crisis during this extremely dry weather.
This is a developing story and further details will be added as they are received.
