Students in Medina Valley ISD return to the classrooms Tuesday

The district is building a new high school, as they expect more than 10,000 students this year.

SAN ANTONIO — Medina Valley is one of the district going back to school on Tuesday, and it’s one of the districts really growing right now.

The district is building a new high school, as they expect more than 10,000 students this year.

The district is home to Loma Alta Middle School, and Creek View High School is just behind it, the district’s second high school which is opening next year.

The district is growing exponentially. For a little perspective, the number of students enrolled in the district has doubled over the past six to seven years. The district expects to see 10-15% growth in enrollment over the next several years.

The district says the biggest key for parents Tuesday morning is to have patience, because of traffic and just the adjustment back to school.

One of the big issues, in all schools this year is the cell phone ban. Medina Valley says in the next few weeks it will have locking pouches at their middle and high schools, where students will have to put their phone.

The district wants to make sure parents know all of the rules for the school year.
