Surveillance video shows suspected burglar breaking into northeast-side bar and restaurant

Police arrested a man after he attempted to break in to the Wetmore Beach House early Tuesday morning.

SAN ANTONIO — A bar and restaurant on the northeast side posted surveillance video of a man breaking into the business early Tuesday morning. The suspect was later arrested by police.

The incident happened just after 4 a.m. at the Wetmore Beach House in the 1200 block of Wetmore Road.

Surveillance video shows the suspected burglar sneaking into the bar. The bar manager was still there at the time and heard the commotion and called authorities.

The surveillance video goes on to show an officer responding and the suspected burglar trying to escape and crawl away. He eventually went through the managers office and was quickly arrested by the officer.

San Antonio police confirmed the arrest and said the suspect is facing charges of burglary of a building, burglary of a coin operated machine and evading arrest.

Break In at Wetmore Beach House

Bad day for this guy! Watch out for the guys still trying to get into the skills games. Little did he know we don’t keep any money in there and didn’t know our bar manager was still in the office. Great job to our bar manager for calling 911 right away and they did catch the guy – cops waiting for him outside. Scary night but everyone’s ok. Bar employees be vigilant and keep on your toes!
