Suspect flees after allegedly firing shot in Shavano Park restaurant, officials say

Witnesses tell police a fight took place inside the Paesanos Restaurant. One of the men involved in the fight allegedly took out a weapon and fired shots.

SHAVANO PARK, Texas — A suspect is on the run after police say he fired a shot in a Shavano Park Italian restaurant Thursday night.

According to the Shavano Park assistant city manager, police were called to the Paesanos Restaurant located in the 3600 block of Paesanos Parkway for a shooting in progress.

At about 9:30 p.m., witnesses told police a fight took place inside the restaurant. One of the men involved in the fight allegedly took out a weapon and fired a shot into the ground. A man was grazed by bullet fragments and sustained minor injuries. He was taken to the hospital.

Officials say the suspect fled the location before police could arrive in a white Chevrolet Silverado with the license plate VLH-5692.

The fight was captured on surveillance video, according to police.

Based on that and witness statements, the shooter was identified as 37-year-old Bruce William Gil. Police have obtained two felony warrants for Gil’s arrest: aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and deadly conduct discharge of a firearm.
