Suspect identified, warrant issued in McQueeney shooting; deputies say he’s armed and dangerous

Chissell remains at large and should be considered armed and dangerous.

The Guadalupe County Sheriff’s Office is continuing to investigate a shooting in the McQueeney area and says the suspect remains at large.

According to authorities, deputies were notified around 8:30 p.m. on March 1, 2026, of a shooting in the 100 block of Old McQueeney Road.

When deputies arrived, they found a 43-year-old man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to Brooke Army Medical Center, where officials say he is expected to recover.

Criminal Investigations Division (CID) investigators processed the scene, collected evidence, and identified the suspect as Camrine Russell Chissell of McQueeney. A warrant has been obtained charging Chissell with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.

Chissell remains at large and should be considered armed and dangerous.

Anyone with information about his whereabouts is urged to contact the Guadalupe County Sheriff’s Office immediately. Authorities say the investigation remains ongoing.
