Suspect in Kickapoo Lucky Eagle shooting to appear in court Wednesday

The suspect in the tragic September casino shooting, Keryan Jones, faces serious charges as he appears in Maverick County court.

EAGLE PASS, Texas — The suspect accused in the deadly shooting outside the Kickapoo Lucky Eagle Casino in Eagle Pass will appear in a Maverick County court Wednesday.

Two people were killed and several others were injured when shots rang out the popular casino on Sept. 17, 2025. 34-year-old Keryan Jones of San Antonio was arrested hours later in Wilson County. He faces two counts of capital murder and five counts of assault with a deadly weapon. 

After the shooting, officials said Jones fled the scene and led law enforcement on a brief pursuit in Wilson County before he was apprehended and returned to Eagle Pass.

Jones remains in custody at the Maverick County Jail with bonds totaling nearly $5 million

A Maverick County court official confirmed Jones is expected to appear in court Wednesday at 10 a.m.
