Suspect in Louis Vuitton store robbery in The Woodlands leads police on destructive chase into Houston

The suspect caused multiple wrecks during the chase. He was taken into custody and after being treated for his injuries, was taken straight to jail.

HOUSTON — A suspect accused in a robbery at a Louis Vuitton store in The Woodlands on Friday was arrested after leading police on a chase into Houston.

According to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, an off-duty Harris County deputy noticed the suspect, later identified as 24-year-old Jontravous Jones of Atlanta, Georgia, committing the crime.  The deputy said Jones was in a white F-150 pickup truck with Home Depot markings.

Montgomery County deputies noticed the pickup near the intersection of the I-45 service road and Sawdust and tried to pull him over.  Investigators say Jones took off, leading them on a chase.

During the chase, investigators say Jones hit two vehicles, causing minor damage. He later caused another wreck near the North Freeway and Yale Street when he reportedly ran a red light and hit two vehicles and a METRO bus. Several injuries were reported from that wreck.

Police say Jones took off on foot, but was quickly caught. Jones was treated at a Houston hospital before being transported to the Montgomery County Jail.  He’s facing charges of robbery and evading arrest. Investigators believe he may be involved in other Louis Vuitton thefts in other cities.
